Crescent Roll Danish Pastry

A quick and easy shorcut version of your favourite bakery pastry. Ready in just 10 minutes this will serve great at breakfast or brunch.

Equipment

  • Conventional Oven
  • Baking Tray
  • Parchment Paper (optional)
  • Bowl to mix

Ingredients

  • 1 Crescent Roll
  • 2 Oz Cream Cheese for 12 pieces
  • 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar or brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp Icing Sugar
  • 1- 2 tsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 2 tbsp Fruit Jam or fresh fruit optional

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven to 375°F/190°C
  • Mix Cheese and Sugar till smooth. Add Vanilla Essence if desired. Set aside.
  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper or with butter to avoid sticking.
  • Open an Crescent Roll and join TWO triangles to form a rectangle. Tap with fingers to join. Sprinkle sugar and tap with fingers.
  • Slice the rectangle into three equal size strips lengthwise.
  • Twist each piece from both ends to form a rope. Starting at one end form a cirlce loosely and tuck the end to secure.
  • Use Thumb.finger to make space in center. Filling it with a spoonful of cheese filling. Add fuits or jam if desired. Brush edges with butter.
  • Bake at 375°F/190°C for 10 minutes. Till edges are brown

Notes

Oven temperatures vary, bake for extra minutes (usually a minute or 2) keeping an eye. Mine took exactly 10 minutes to brown.
