Easter Eggs HairClip

Do you have an old or any snapclip and few ribbon/fabric pieces? If os you can make these hairclips, decorated with beautiful easter eggs.


Easter a fun and one of the first celebrations in spring. Warm weather, beautifully decorated yards and homes, a perfect time for kids pictures. These handmade snapclips are one of the beautiful accesories for a pictures.


This Easter egg inspire hairclip is made with ribbons and a snap clip. Perfect for to accessorize with any dress for Easter party or Easter Egg Hunt.


All you need is a pair of snapclips new or used , ribbons and some emblishments. First you have to cover the snapclips with ribbon or start with a covered one.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO MAKE THESE HAIRCLIPS?

  • Snapclips : A pair of snapclips. If covering with ribbon use any old clips you have in hand.
  • Ribbon : To cover use 3/8 inch ribbon of any color/choice. 
  • Emblishments : Emblishments to decorate as small pearls, laces or ribbons.

INSTRUCTIONS TO CREATE EASTER EGGS WITH RIBBON

How to cover a snapclip with Ribbon? 

Draw an egg on a paper of desired size and trace it on the backside of Fabric or Ribbon. Here i used a 4 inch ribbon.

Cut the traced ribbon and carefully seal the fray ends with candle or lighter.

Repeat the steps for other ribbon or fabric too.


Trim a lace or cut another ribbon in half as shown approximatley 2 inches ( should be able to wrap the egg at both ends.

Carefully seal the ends with lighter. Heat will let the ribbon contract the end and creates as nice circular edge. If you are using 1/8 ribbon or thin lace the trimming part.

Now place lace or trimmed ribbon to the egg leaving ribbon at both ends.

 

Line hot glue on the desired position and stick the ribbon.


Fold the left over ribbon backwards and glue it on both ends. Trim any excess. When done this is how the decorated egg looks.

Place one egg over the other and glue them. Add any embishments if desired

Add a dab of hot glue to the bottom of the snap clip to attach the finished egg to finsh the hairclip. 


Similarly repeat the steps to finish the other one.
