    1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.
    2. Add blueberries and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until they start to burst.
    3. Mash the blueberries with a spatula or potato masher.
    4. Simmer for another 2 minutes, or until the syrup has thickened.
    5. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
    6. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a heat-safe container.
    7. Add Sugar/honey for extra sweetness.
    8. Chill the syrup in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

The blueberry syrup will keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Tips for making blueberry syrup:

    • Use fresh blueberries for the best flavor.
    • If you don’t have fresh blueberries, you can use frozen blueberries, but be sure to thaw them first.
    • You can add other ingredients to the syrup, such as sugar, honey, lemon juice, mint leaves or vanilla extract.
    • Use the syrup to top pancakes, waffles, ice cream, or yogurt.
