Sesame Tofu and Broccoli Stir-Fry

Crispy tofu and crunchy broccoli stir fried to perfection in tasty homemade sauce.A perfect mix of protein and veggies to serve with steamed rice, noodles or cauliflower rice.

Ingredients

For Crispy Tofu

  • 1 block Tofu Extra firm
  • 2 tbsp Cornflour
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Pepper

For Sauce

  • ¼ cup Low sodium light soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Sri racha or Hot sauce add extra or minus as per spicy levels
  • 2 tbsp Cornflour
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • ¼ cup Water

For Stir Fry

  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil replace any oil if needed
  • 1 tbsp Chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp Chopped ginger
  • 1 tbsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 whole head Broccoli approx 500 grams florets
  • 2 tbsp Roasted Sesame Seeds
  • ¼ cup Green spring onions for garnish
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

To Fry Tofu

  • Drain the excess moisture from the tofu with a kitchen towel and cut into cubes.
  • Combine cornflour , salt and pepper in a bowl. coat the tofu cubes with flour.
  • Add oil to a pan and layer the tofu cubes and cook on low to medium heat for 2 -3 minutes on each side. Do not cover and cook evenly turning as needed.

Prepare Sauce

  • Combine soy sauce , rice vinegar , sesame oil , hot sauce , corn flour and mix. Add water and mix till smooth and not lumpy.

Stir Fry

  • Heat a skillet and add oil. Add chopped garlic and ginger.Add broccoli florets and cook for 2-3 minutes stirring occasionally. Add salt and red pepper flakes
  • Add the prepared sauce and cook for a 2 minutes on high flame till the sauce thickens,Add fried tofu and toss to mix. Top with sesame seeds and spring onions
