Peanut Butter & Oats Energy bites are a quick and healthy snacks that required very less time to make. Made with peanut butter, oats, chocolate chips and flax meal they are a good source of omega 3 fats.
With readily availabe ingredients from your panty these energy bites need less than 15 minutes to make . and you have an awesome and healthy snack to grab as breakfast, post workout snack or after school snack for kid.
These energy bites are so good, as i am always asked for this recipe every time i make them. They are equally loved by kids and adults.
While the choco chips are so appealing for kids, skip if needed.
WHY SHOULD YOU MAKE THESE ENERGY BITES?
- These energy bites are protein packed, great for breakfast or snack.
- Peanut butter/any nut butter is kids favourite so a healthy option for snacking.
- These has flax meal a rich source of omega fats and can’t be tasted, as peanut butter empowers the taste.A great way to add flax to any kids/adults daily diet.
- Takes less than 10 minutes to put together and a no bake recipe.
- These taste more like a dessert if you have a sweet craving rather than energy bite.
INGREDIENTS FOR THESE ENERGY BALLS
Oats : Preferbaly oat fashioned quaker oats rolled variety. If your oats are not rolled try powder them.
Peanut Butter : The main protein source of the bites. they help bind the ingredients together. Can be substituted with almond butter or any nut butter.
Flax Meal : Flax meal is a good source of omega-3 fats and rich source of fiber and helps to Improve Cholesterol and lower blood pressure. Wouldn’t recommend replaces unless you consume flax seeds in other forms daily. Substitute with hemp seeds or chai seeds if you do not have in hand.
Honey : Honey is the natural sweetner used in this recipe. Add less if you want less sweeter.Can be replaced with Agave.
Mini Chocolate Chips : Use semi sweet ,these are a great add in especially for kids snacks. Use dark chocolate chips to keep more healthier.
HOW TO MAKE THESE ENERGY BITES?
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir to mix well.
To make flax meal, grind flax seeds into a fine powder.
Flax seeds are a great source of omega-3 fats so do not skip it. These energy balls are a greater way of consuming flax seeds if you do not like them.
When you combine all the ingredients together, sometimes the mixture may be little gooey. This varies on the outside temperatures and season.
Peanut butter may be little runny. Place the mixture in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes for easy rolling if needed.
Scoop a spoonful of mixture and make into a ball, rolling between palms. For equal sized balls use the small icecream scoop.
These usually make 14 -16 small balls.
Store in the refrigerator for up to week. Can be freezed for upto 2 months in the freezer.
TOP TIPS FOR THIS RECIPE
- If you have trouble rolling the balls refrigerating them will help them bind nicely.
- Line a tray with parchment paper and place the mixture and slice into bars after refrigerating for 30 minutes.
- If you prefer to skip flax meal replace with additional oats or oats flour.

Peanut Butter Energy Bite - No Bake
Ingredients
- 1 cup old fashioned rolled Oats
- ½ cup Peanut Butter
- ½ cup Flax Meal
- ½ cup Choclate chips
- ⅓ cup Honey
- 2 scoops Protein powder
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and mix together. Form bite sized using a small cookie scoop or a spoon. Roll into small bite sized balls.Store in airtight container for up to a week in reridgerator or in freezer for upto 2 months.
